Sandburg Women Fall Short at Sauk Valley

Sauk Valley handed the Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team its first Arrowhead Conference loss Saturday, defeating the Chargers 49-46.
Playing for the first time in two weeks after four straight postponements, the Chargers (9-12, 2-1) took a 37-35 lead into the fourth quarter but were held to just three field goals and nine points in the final period.
Sophomore guard Danayzia Stuckey (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) scored all of her team-best 12 points in the second half, with 10 coming in the third quarter. Freshman forward Kennedy Jackson (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) added 10 points.
The Chargers will look to bounce back when they travel to face Illinois Valley at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
